Here are two beaches you can visit:

Exmouth

Exmouth is one of the popular beaches for families to enjoy a day-out. Golden sand beach sounds very appealing, two miles of even.

South Sands

In other words it is a perfect place to enjoy a nice beach picnic with your family, water sports and sun-bathing, south Sands is perfect for swimming. The beach is just walking distance from the town. So you might need to come early to get a parking spot, limited parking is available at the beach. You can also take the ferry to Salcombe. This beach is also great for sub-bathing. You will have to make arrangements to leave it at a day-care facility for pets when you leave your Torquay holiday cottage, so if you are travelling with your dog. Dogs are not allowed at this beach. You can go to the pub at the beach, if you would like to have a nice beer or ale. There is a cafe where you can pick up some snacks and something to drink. This sheltered beach has excellent fine sand and various water sports. South Sands is a perfect spot for a family day-out. Another great beach to go while staying at the Devon holiday cottages is South Sands.
